Russell Gainer, MSSW, LCSW Executive Director
With more than 16 years’ experience in social work, Mr. Gainer specializes in services to the elderly and end-of-life issues. He was the Counseling and Social Services Manager for Odyssey HealthCare in San Antonio for 7 years, is a facilitator of bereavement groups for the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association, and is chairman of the Clinical Series for Social Workers Committee. He is President of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of San Antonio. He received his BSW from The University of Texas at El Paso and his MSSW from The University of Texas at Austin.
Sydney K. Lenz, RN, HCS-D Director of Client Services
A nurse since 1991, Sydney has specialized in home healthcare for the past 11 years.
Prior to coming to SeniorBridge, she was Regional Director of Texas Home
Health/Guardian Home Care Holdings, with responsibility for programs, operations, and
fiscal management in the San Antonio and Kerrville offices. Sydney was also
previously Director of Patient Care at Girling Health Care, Inc, and Executive
Director/Administrator and, earlier, Clinical Manager/Administrator of Baptist Home
Health Services in San Antonio. She received her degree from Baptist Hospital School
of Nursing in San Antonio.
Randall Garcia, MBA, RN Director of Professional Relations
Mr. Garcia has more than 22 years nursing experience. He has worked as
Administrator/Branch Director for Nursefinders and was Coordinator of Critical Care
and an ED/Neurology Critical Care educator for the Methodist Healthcare System. He
has a BS in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Healthcare
Management from Our Lady of the Lake University.
John Anderson, LMSW Care Manager
John has worked for social service organizations for more than 24 years. Since 2003,
he has been a psychotherapist with Senior Connections of Texas. Previously, he was a
hospital-based Adult Protective Services Specialist for the Texas Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services, coordinating APS client services with with the
University and VA hospitals. Earlier, he investigated reports of abuse and neglect of
elderly and disabled clients for the state and consulted on improving quality and
intensity of client services. John has experience as a Social Worker serving
community-dwelling elderly and disabled adults, CPS worker, child care licensing
representative, Medical Specialist and Instructor in Psychiatric Procedures for the
US Army at Brook Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. He completed a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and has been a
Licensed Master Social Worker for over 20 years.
Tami Lykins, RN Care Manager
Ms. Lykins worked at McKenna Memorial Hospital in New Braunfels as a Charge Nurse and Surgical Floor Nurse and is a certified Chemotherapy Provider. She also spent 15 years managing several businesses as well as traveling as a Regional Training Director, recruiting, hiring, and training all levels of employees. She started Customer Service Consultants to help businesses strategize to improve customer relations. Ms. Lykins received her RN from the San Antonio College School of Nursing.
Nancy Ortiz, RN Senior Care Manager
Ms. Ortiz is an experienced geriatric care management professional with more than 20 years’ nursing experience, whose specialties are hospice and geriatric care. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, she was employed as an Occupational Health Nurse. She has also worked in the hospital setting, in medical case management, and with special populations. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and the National Geriatric Nurses Association. She received her degree from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio.
Christina Shiels, LVN Care Manager
A nurse for 10 years, Ms. Shiels has dedicated her career to the care of the geriatric population. She worked as the Quality Assurance Coordinator and Wellness Director for several assisted living communities in San Antonio, and her work experience in assisted living facilities has given her a high level of expertise in this environment. She attended nursing school at the US Army Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio. Ms. Shiels is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
David Mattioli, RN, BSN Associate Vice President of Clinical Services
David Mattioli brings more than 17 years' experience in a variety of healthcare
settings to SeniorBridge. For 9 years previously, he was the Administrator of Almost
Family in West Palm Beach, responsible for operations and delivery of care for the
in-home program in 4 counties, and for a time served dually in that role at Almost
Family's Medical Adult Day Center in Boynton Beach.
Mr. Mattioli began his nursing career at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor,
Michigan, where he developed a passion for caring for the elderly, and became a care
manager before returning to Florida. He is a certified trainer for the Alzheimer
training course for home health agencies in Florida and coauthored the curriculum
used for the training. Mr. Mattioli is a member of the National Association of
Professional Geriatric Care Managers. He received a BS in biology from Palm Beach
Atlantic University and a BSN from Eastern Michigan University, and is a certified
Legal Nurse Consultant
Philip Dooling Vice President of Regional Operations
Mr. Dooling has over 29 years of senior management experience, including sales, marketing and operations roles with a Fortune 100 company, entrepreneurial start-ups and owning a multiple site specialty retail business. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Mr. Dooling was the Chief Operating Officer for a South Texas Regional Home Health Agency, where he provided strategic direction and managed marketing and business development efforts. Mr. Dooling has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois.
